Ways on How to Shave Without Getting Razor Bumps

By

Many men just can't seem to shave without getting razor bumps. Men who have sensitive skin are prone to getting red bumps on their face and neck after shaving. However, the reasons for this might not be because of the razor that you are using or the type of skin you have - perhaps it is because of the way you shave. A lot of men do not know that they are not shaving correctly. Shaving is more than just applying shaving cream on your face and sliding a razor across it to remove facial hair. If you are able to take care of your skin more and spend more time when you shave, it will be less prone to having pesky red razor bumps. Here are some of the simple ways on how to shave without getting razor bumps.

The best shaving method is called "wetshave." First, fill your sink with hot water. Dip a clean washcloth in the water and slightly wring it. Pat the towel on your face particularly on the area that you will be shaving. This will help soften the hair when you shave it. Next, you should apply a pre-shave conditioner on the bearded part of your face. This will help moisturize your skin which is essential when you are shaving.

Apply a thin layer of shaving cream on the bearded area of your face. Men should not apply a huge amount of shaving cream as it can clog the pores. For men with sensitive skin, they should use a product that is designed for their skin type. Such products usually contain aloe vera or baby oil to prevent skin irritation.

Run a sharp razor across your face to shave off the hair. It is best to use a sharp razor as using a dull one is not effective in giving you a close shave and can contribute to skin irritation as well. As you shave, you should rinse the razor in hot water. Make sure that the razor is clean of any hair and shaving cream before you run it across the bearded part of your face again. Continue to do this until your skin is clean of facial hair.

Rinse your face well with cool water. Pat your face afterward with a soft, clean towel. Instead of using an after shave, you should apply a skin conditioner or moisturizer to help keep your skin clear and supple. It is that simple to shave without getting razor bumps.
