Did you know that there are herbs for cancer? A lot of people who are diagnosed with cancer choose to try herbal remedies as they, at the same time, undergo medical treatment. Several people also take herbs as a means of preventing the development of cancer. More individuals today are interested in the different herbs for cancer and this is not surprising given that a recent study suggests that 40% of men and women living in the early 21st century will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. How do herbs work in fighting cancer? Although herbs work in different ways, herbal remedies for cancer are targeted at strengthening the immune system. It helps increase each cell's ability to fight cancer cells as well as cancer-causing free radicals. Each herb, however, has its own strength and way of helping prevent cancer. Here are among the most used and recommended herbs for cancer.

Garlic

Garlic is perhaps among the most overlooked and underestimated herb for cancer. This is probably because of the fact that it is common and people do not give too much attention to it. What many do not know is that it is one of the strongest herbal remedies for cancer. As a matter of fact, it is the strongest antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal herb there is. It is an herb that you can take as much as you would like to. For people diagnosed with cancer, it is recommended to take at least 3-5 cloves of raw garlic each day. Those who are more ill can take as much as eight raw garlic cloves. It is best to eat it raw as it is believed that its healing properties are more effective when taken that way.

Barley Green

Barley green is one of the most used herbs for cancer because of its ability to both prevent the development of cancer and fight existing cancer cells. It works as an antioxidant which helps kill cancer cells in the body. Barley green has been cultivated for thousands of years and has been used for different herbal medicine practices. Aside from being a good herbal remedy for cancer, Barley Green is rich in vitamins and minerals including vitamins A and C, iron and folic acid. It is also a good source of amino acids.

Red Clover

Red Clover is considered to be a powerful herb for cancer. It is an herb which grows in different areas around the world. Red Clover works in preventing cancer by cleansing the blood of toxins and impurities. Aside from that, it also helps prevent the development of new blood vessels in cancerous tumors. It can be taken in tincture and poultice form although many herbalists recommend it to be taken in tea form. It is not advised to take its stem or in the form of capsule.

Besides the herbs for cancer that have been mentioned, Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling has suggested that regularly taking vitamin C can be helpful is an antioxidant that not only in preventing cancer but also in stopping it from spreading to other parts of the body. If you are taking high doses of vitamin C, make sure to drink plenty of water. It is also best to speak with your doctor before trying any of these herbs more so if you have been diagnosed with cancer as it may interfere with your medical treatment.
